Hey, This is Zero's inbox. Leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. If it's textable, Don't call me. Yes, that means you, Alia. You know why. [ACTION] [VIDEO] [VOICE] [TEXT]
[Poinsettia squinted at the name they were trying to communicate to, the text rather small for their little eyes. But regardless of this pitfall, they continued on with the voicemail.]
I think this is your number, but hi regardless! I frankly wish I could text you, but I don't have the proper hand skills to type nor write you a proper message, but at least I can do my best in calling you.
A-Anyway, I'm Poinsettia and I think you might remember me from the time I saw you in the S-Space Bridge area. I hope you are doing OK so far as you were a very nice person to talk to and I honestly can't wait to show you some of the other friends I've made on board.
Also, I'll talk to you some more, but I hope to see you around!
Zero kipped up from his recharge chamber, ready to start the day, glad to be back on his feet after a few days in traction. His comms device buzzed on the nightstand, illuminating the dark room. He picked it up, and gave a smile listening to Poinsetta's voicemail. It was nice to know people aboard cared.
He tapped away at the dim holo-screen interface, which he kept in dark mode, as always. "Hey Poinsetta. Just returning your call. I'm doing much better now, thanks, just about back to 100%. Would be happy to join you and go chat with some folks. Medical says it might do me good to make friends and build a support network on board. Shall we hit the entertainment suite soon?"

Poinsettia saw the message and smiled at the sound of his voice. From what he has said, he was doing much better and that is honestly good news to them!
They vaguely remembered hearing quite the ruckus from afar, but didn't pay much mind to it. After all, if the man on the other side of the line is doing fine, then it should be settled as it is, right?
Upon activating the speech to text command, Poinsettia spoke into the communication device.
"I'm glad you are doing well! I wanted to check in and see if you were doing OK, and I'm very happy for you to be here. A-And about the entertainment suite . . . I didn't realize that they completed the making of that room! I remember hearing about it while I was at the bar, but it was under construction at the time I was there, so I didn't really go. What time do you want to go? I can meet up with you over there!"
NnnnnHa! OK, I DID IT. THERE. I pressed the damn button!
Wait... I didn't think about what to...
[There's a long pause, about 8 seconds of silence.]
Uh... ...hey..
[Another shorter pause, about 4 seconds, there's an air of a deer in headlights]
...I'm good. All good. Back on my feet. Optimus is a good guy, I was in really good hands. Oh, uh, literally. Heh.
Nickel patched me up a little, I've been in my new quarters for a few days while auto-repair systems handle the rest.
I'm relieved that you aren't scared. Guess I should expect that though, huh toughguy? Haha.
I'm not so sure it's 100% safe... ...I think I know what happened. He... er, I.. um.. the other me... I'm pretty sure he's gone, for now. It's almost too quiet in my eBrain right now.
There's some things I think we should talk about. I have a theory about why it happened, and-
[Zero Sighs, there's another pause while he struggles to find the words]
...I have.. ..I think.. I...
I think we should meet up somewhere to talk. Somewhere public. I have some things to tell you, but, I'm afraid of how you might react...
I already hurt you once, and I don't want to hurt you again.
[ there's a quick return message. It seems its important... ]
Okay, I think there's always the observation deck, it's public but also should be big enough to talk privately if needed... it sounds like you're nervous and I think I have an idea too... I'll be brave though, I'm not scared. But what ever it is... you can't tell my siblings. They can get very protective... so if...
[ There's a pause... a deep sound of air inhaling. ]
I'll see you there. I'll leave Rush home but I have him on standby for teleporting if things get bad again.
Just in case.
[ With that, Rock makes his way out. ]
I'll be there in fifteen minutes. You can wait a little longer if needed.
Outside Zero's room is a little wrapped gift. Its nothing fancy in side. Just a weapons care kit, hair products... and seems to be a little blue plush doll of a knight. There's a note attached.
"I don't know if its appropriate to give a stuffed doll. But maybe if you're lonely you can pretend its your friend back home... X I think...
If its not right, you at least have more practical things in the box too to help....
I really wanted to thank you for all you've done... and even if you don't feel like you need the thanks. I still wanted to say and show it.
So you're Zero. The furthest future Number I take it. I'm Flash Man. The Commander of my fellow Numbers [Self appointed]
Normally I'd say its a pleasure but I want to understand who and what you are first most. I can't sit by and let you do as you please if you might cause problems in some way.
I'm sending you a schedule for the day. You don't have to follow it. But it helps. There's a time for the Trams schedules too so you can traverse faster and there's a map of the vents Snake Man helped me procure.
As the oldest [ Self appointed] its my job to make sure all my brothers are in top shape.
As for getting to know each other. Don't worry. I'm sure we'll run into the other eventually.
For now, take care. Feel free to respond. I'll see you around ship.
Nice to hear from you, brother. I'm indeed the furthest future number. That is to say, I'm the final creation before Dr Wily's Death.
Are the other numbers aware that you're their commander? They seem to be a little disorganised. I have my fair share of command experience myself, over 100 years in the field and decorated as a hero. I have to say your leadership style leaves a little to be desired. Consider next time meeting in person, establishing a personal rapport and leading through example to earn respect first, before you start issuing orders to people unconstrained to the chain of command. Don't bank on the non-commissioned automatically respecting you, it will only work against you with laypeople.
I'm similarly stand-offish with unfamiliar people myself, so I understand your apprehension to be overly friendly.
As for what I am... I'm "father's magnum opus". My power, speed, intelligence, combat prowess and decision making are all at the pinnacle of what the Dr was capable of at his Zenith. Despite the face he passed away before I was fully complete, he found ways of actually managing to give me some upgrades beyond the grave. I broke his core programming some time ago, and have been in control of my own decisions for most of my own life, so while I may be the 'youngest' it'd be more accurate to say I'm the most complete and mature of the Wily Number series.
Not only that but I possess an internal library of the schematics for all of the doctor's works, So I'm intimately familiar with your systems myself. I also possess a similar variable weapon system to that as Rock, however, mine tends to give Melee combat techniques as opposed to various energy manipulation and projection abilities. I actually possessed a technique very similar to your Time Stopper for a while named Dark Hold, but it was wiped from my system by a serious injury. I offered to share this information with Donatello to help aboard the ship for repairs and upgrades to you, my other brothers, and the light bots.
Thank you for the tram schedule, and the vent map. I'll find this quite useful if I'm successful in my application to the security team.
As amused and concerned as I was by parts of your message, I myself have been struggling with learning just how much "father's" influence has left many of my newly met-brothers somewhat emotionally damaged. I'm glad to finally have people to call a family, and I share your desire to care for and elevate the rest of our siblings, so we have an alignment of personal goals.
If you play well with me, I will play well with you, Flash. But I would recommend against condescending to me in the same manner as this message.
[Oh he was not expecting a response, in fact he expected to be totally ignored...]
I see, thank you for the time you took to type all of that out. Forgive my lack of etiquette and simpler words. I am used to speaking and giving orders to Heatman who's code type needs precise quick wording or else he might end up doing what ever he pleases after losing focus on the task at hand.
Well, if your the magnum opus I won't have too much to worry for. Can't help later creations being better then previous gens I suppose. So your similiar to Bass in some ways but your variable system output is totally unique.
I appreciate your willingness to help your fellow numbers, and peers.
As for our emotional maturity, you will find many of us are thriving here at the least. Without Master Wily's influence it is [ dare he say a relief?] a new experience.
It took several hours before he could finally speak again since Grusa muted him and he was home safe In that time he rested and when able to visit he took that first opportunity to.
After all, it seemed Zero had important things to talk about, as well as the fact the other Zero won't be a problem. Looks like they finally are on the same page, even if the Virus is still scary.
He knocks at Zero's door. "I'm here, I hope you didn't mind the wait. I passed out."
Zero slides open the door, Rock catching his eye from the slit between door and frame.
"Wait you're here?! I said I was going to come to you. Ahh.."
He looks flustered, and trying to maintain a straight face.
"Ok, give me 3 seconds."
He closes the door, the sounds of things being hastily shunted around the room and muffled expletives carry outside through the steel threshold.
A few moments later, and slightly sweatier, more relaxed zero reappears at the frame.
"Ok, I'll let you in, just... ...don't touch anything."
He slides back the door, opening into Zero's apartment. It's mostly open plan, fairly utilitarian, no-nonsense. Everything looks.. slighlty, off kilter. As though not quite in the place it should be.
A couch divides the living area at the front from the rear of the room, throw pillows all askew, the rug in the center is wrinkled, and atop it a small chabudai tea table sits not quite perpendicular to the other objects.
In the area behind theres a large training dummy in one corner of the living space sitting at the centre of a tatami mat.
A large exterior window behind it with a view out into the void. To the right of it, a door slightly ajar...
...visible through the slit is Zero's room, and well lit vanity table messy with hair products and brushes. The mirror is hastily draped with heavy fabric, too hastily to hide the broken glass underneath it.
He notices the door is ajar and quickly hops across the furniture to close it.
"I'm sorry about the mess... I was trying to get a little workout done. Cooldown, so I don't seize up ...can I get you a drink?"
Zero himself is clad in sweatpants, and a hooded zip-up sweatshirt. Unfastened. His lack of shirt underneath shows the fresh heavy bandages adorning his torso from the bumps he took on that last mission.
"Oh, I was supposed to-" Rock starts, stares at the door as soon as it's shut on him. Blinking three ties listening to the rustled noises behind it. He puts his hands to his mouth as he laughs a little, oops. Seems he caught Zero at an odd time.
"I should of texted first, my bad." He says when the door opens and he peaks curiously in. Then inside he goes. He himself has luckily managed to power down out of most of his gear, in fact now that the bio cables have been removed there was no way he wasn't gonna put on normal clothes the first chance he got. Just soccer tee, shorts and his armor boots usual. He puts his arms behind himself as he bounces gently along.
Rock smiles only breaking briefly as his eyes trail over to Zero's bandaging. Looking a moment too long and then takes a deep breather before finding a spot on one of the pillows. Sitting in the middle one, hands politely in his lap.
"I must of gotten turned around with the plan, but it did seem important." He trails back to the open sweatshirt. Part of him thinking of repair and then back up at Zero's face.
"Oh, what kind of drinks? Do you have star straws, everything tastes better with those even if there's no sugar." He tilts his head to the side. What ever Zero was hiding... he sure did leap pretty fast to hide things... weird.
BACK TEEG lots of drama i think got some new addys on scomeds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we'll get our stuff out yet also lmao that fish guy (not me) we were with had some stupid stuff happen 2 him
The door slides open a gap, one eye peeks around the door.
"What's the point of asking, if I'm not home, I can't say no, jackass."
The door closes again, there's a breif clacking of a locking mechanism, and the door opens fully.
"Actually, you saved me a trip. I have something for you too. Come on in. Don't touch my shit."
Zero's quarters are mostly open plan, fairly utilitarian, no-nonsense.
To the right of it, a door, presumably to Zero's bedroom. It's closed, but the door looks damaged, as though it's been wrestled against the electronic mechanism physically and broken.
Zero sits relaxed on the floor, next to the tea table, sorta half criss-cross applesauce. The table is set out with a pot billowing fresh steam and a set of upturned cups on a tray. He motions his hands and invites Bass to join him.
"Miss me with that 'Don't touch my shit'. What fucking shit?" Bass stalks in once allowed entry, taking ample opportunity to look around. He fights the urge to yawn, "Barren in here, like a hotel. You need some damn hobbies or some house plants or something."
Does Zero fear he's gonna abscond with his tea set or tasteful throw pillows or something? Ugh Whatever. He eyes the table situation. He wasn't planning on staying long enough to hang out but this feels liek a challenge. And Bass does NOT back down from challenges. He drops to sit on the ground in some ridiculous slightly sprawled out manner that makes it look like he's taking up as much room as possible without it being too ridiculous.
He puts the Head Bag on the table and rifles through it. His arm seems to go a little deeper then it looks possible and then he pulls out a small paper shopping bag, one corner slightly chewed upon.
"Dammit Cinnamon-Bun..." he grumbles and peeks inside, "Don't worry she didn't chew up the gift, just the outside."
He grins sinisterly and slides the bag over to his brother. He restrains himself from outright cackling. Inside is a pair of red and black square hair ties identical to the ones Hiku Matsune uses to keep her pigtails aloft. Perfect for a girly bot.
It has been a few days since that attempt in helping out Mega Man with his sick day suddenly escalated into what would’ve been a full on fight. Terra has been out hiding for a long while, especially after that other Robot Master stepped in to intervene.
Stupid Robot Master, everything was going so well and Mega Man was this close to listening, why did he have to make it worse?
Terra finally teleports near the entrance way to Zero’s dorm, clutching at his chest as he steadies himself against the door. It was only a scratch, he should be able to walk it off like it’s nothing. The other Robot Master should and is nothing to him! Why is he letting him get into his skin?
Oh right. Because he is a part of the R2’s security team and he needed to finish what was started. And to learn that Mega Man saw more respect and trust in him … almost sickens yet fascinates him at the same time.
The way Mega Man mouthed a “thank you”. The way Zero threatened to kill him for attempting to intervene back for something he himself started. The way Zero trembled between the line of vulnerability, bravery, and being broken …
Terra heavily slams the side of his arm against the door, his other hand clawing into his chest as he struggles to catch himself in a heaving breath.
He can’t. Why is he letting it get to him? Why is he here? Zero chose to let him go free as a bird for a reason, so why is he here? Is it the desire to see someone of similar kin? To be finished off exactly where he stands? To just talk? To just wait for him to show up and say “hi”?
He is waiting, but the results … are to be determined on what comes next afterwards.
Zero hears a rapping at his door. He casually crosses the length of his suite, and cautious as always, ensures the bolts are secure and chains in place, before checking the eye piece.
Terra. Standing at his threshold. Still injured.
Makes sense he wouldn't head to medical while Rock was still recovering there. Hard to know whether it was because of Zero's threat, or an inability to show his face after what he'd pulled. Though given Terra's considerable strength, he had a hard time believing Cipher had him running scared. After-all, he was here on his doorstep.
He wonders if Terra has come to apologise. Perhaps Rock's belief in Terra's better nature was coming to form faster than Zero had expected. Was he here to apologise? Perhaps best not to assume on friendly terms.
He taps away at his comms. Chief Magnus, Starscream, there's a suspect I had an altercation with a few days ago turned up on my doorstep. I let him slip at the time due to needing to Med.Evac Rock Light to med bay for serious injuries. Suspect does not appear hostile. Backup not required at this time, but monitor my line. If I don't get in regularly, please investigate. Suspect is armed and in a state of mental distress. Powerful too, but nothing I can't handle.
He slides the door open, allowing it to catch on the chain. Leaving a gap wide enough to address Terra with 1 eye and half a mouth. Certainly not wide enough to fit a hand through.
"Your name is Terra, right? You're injured. Pardon me if I'm rude, but I didn't expect you to turn up at my home. What's your business here. If you came to fight, I'm not interested. If you're willing to let me take a look at those wounds, I have some medical supplies here, though I'd prefer not to let you into my personal space."
He stares through the slot at the pained looking Star-Droid. Eyebrows high in curiousity.
Terra finally meets the other Robot Master’s gaze through the open gap between the door and the frame, craning his head down slightly to accommodate how short Zero was compared to himself. He then swallows, attempting to hold back bile.
“Full name’s Lord Terra if you’re willing to be that formal,” Terra grips a hand around the door frame, his other hand loosening around his chest, the clothes now soaked in oil. “And I’m used to being wounded by the likes of you, it’s just a scratch —“
Terra’s voice then hitches raggedly, his entire frame nearly doubling over as he cups a hand over his mouth. Eventually, he pulls a hand back, now dripping with oil.
“Besides, I’m not here to finish what was started,” Terra then looks down at Zero tiredly, his posture more lax hopefully. “I’m here to know what does Rock see in you. He feels more at comfort around you, even when you’re not here for him at all times. Even when you —“
A weak yet wiry smile. What a dangerous game to play, now isn’t it?
“— threaten to snuff out the Stardroid leader’s life just for his own safety … and while we’re here, what would you like to make out of it?”
Hey, Zero my man. You see the posters around for the latest party? If you ain't got plans, you want to come along with me? From what I've seen you've got some pretty good moves, I'd bet you know how to cut a rug.
[Play it cool, Leo. He's just a handsome guy with incredible hair. No need to overthink it.]
"Oh, hey Leonardo. I uhm.. I don't really make plans very often, so sure. I'm free. I'm fairly well co-ordinated, though I've never really done much dancing. It could be fun to give it a try!"
[Zero's slow social processor gradually kicks into gear, his face becomes increasingly camouflaged against the red of his helmet, as he realises what Leo's question actually means, and his ram begins to overflow with fears and questions.]
"...I Uh.. You.. ...do you mean as like a date? like a DATE date? with ME?"
I didn't even know Leo looked at me that way, I.. ...but.. Quint... and... Terra... and... those were both casual things.. I haven't actually ever had a date since I got here.
"I mean.. that is.. you're certainly athletic.... and blue is my favourite colour.."
There's been a somewhat troubling consistent issue I've noticed recently that I feel is at the point of flagging up with security, as it might help with the general protection of some of the crew.
As you are aware, when organics arrive onto the ship as well as the traditional greeting, they are also given a bracelet that when activated will provide safety and a tracking device for if they end up in space or if the hull ever depressurises. This is in addition to the space suits kindly provided by the captain.
My main concern lies in the fact that the captain has yet to record a message that's more appropriate to help those who have arrived and do not take him for his word, as simply being told to give up on any conflict for those who have just come in from one does not really do much to dissuade them. It is a shame that most of the time this message is ignored and the problems from this then become security's, but I would hope a new message with things that have been learned from previous experiences at least be utilized to try again.
It seems there is not enough of a focus on letting the organics know what this bracelet does, as I've interacted with several who were not aware of it or have since removed it, as they do not understand how vital it is for them, should we come under attack or if there is some kind of conflict sparked on the ship that results in multiple explosions. This has happened more than once, and there's evidence in multiple reports that organics have been harmed by such conflicts.
In addition to this, while the bracelets are mostly focused around organic survival, I wonder if it would be appropriate for the robot masters on board to be given PPE as well. I can't claim to know their biology and know if they truly need air or not, but as terrestrial creations they likely do not possess the ability to function safety with prolonged exposure to the radiation and temperature in space. This aside, it seems logical for the tracking device, warmth and protection they offer when triggered. I understand the robot masters have been created for specific purposes, including conflict, but it seems logical to offer them that additional piece of protection, especially when they are prone to getting into fights amongst themselves. Providing such protection might given them additional time to contact security or find another way to resolve their conflict. Either way, it seems rational to offer them the same kind of protection should they end up in space as the organics.
Forward to this, perhaps it would be worth putting up signs around the ship to remind people of the importance of them? Reminders to put them on if they've been removed, reminders to see if they need any system updates or to get them repaired if they have been damaged. This kind of prevention is easy, and I don't see why we shouldn't try to prevent a tragedy when it can be easily done so. A large hull breach or depressurisation could result in many casualties, and this could be avoided with more diligent attention to the things we already have available to ourselves.
In fact, I would presume that for anyone who wears them - and while I think it should be strongly encouraged, should be kept optional lest we slide down a slippery slope too fast - perhaps monthly check ups in general should be encouraged? It would be unfortunate for someone to be good about making sure they keep them on only to be stymied by a system malfunction that could be easily picked up by someone who knows how they work.
Additionally, while I am not part of security and it is not my concern, I would hope that there are some procedures in place for those who opt not to wear the bracelets, even after being educated on the benefits of wearing one.
I believe many who have arrived here who are robot masters or some kind of organic, might be those who are quite strong in the reality where they come from, but unused to how things differ here. Perhaps it is unnecessary, but do we really need to find out that someone who believes they are immune to the effects of a vacuum actually isn't by them being pulled into one and injured?
I hope these concerns are helpful, and I am happy to meet if they need to be discussed further.

I'll see you around.

Date: 2025-11-03 12:59 pm (UTC)I see, thank you for the time you took to type all of that out.

Date: 2025-07-06 12:04 pm (UTC)After all, it seemed Zero had important things to talk about, as well as the fact the other Zero won't be a problem. Looks like they finally are on the same page, even if the Virus is still scary.
He knocks at Zero's door. "I'm here, I hope you didn't mind the wait. I passed out."
Re: Post Rescue/Aftermath
Date: 2025-07-06 11:04 pm (UTC)"Wait you're here?!
"Sit wherever, I'm not picky."
Re: Post Rescue/Aftermath
Date: 2025-07-06 11:26 pm (UTC)"I should of texted first, my bad." He says when the door opens and he peaks curiously in.
What ever Zero was hiding... he sure did leap pretty fast to hide things... weird.

The door closes again, there's a breif clacking of a locking mechanism, and the door opens fully.
"Actually, you saved me a trip. I have something for you too. Come on in. Don't touch my shit."
Zero's quarters are mostly open plan, fairly utilitarian, no-nonsense. Everything looks.. slighlty, off kilter. As though not quite in the place it should be.

A large exterior window behind it with a view out into the void.

Date: 2025-11-02 10:42 pm (UTC)Does Zero fear he's gonna abscond with his tea set or tasteful throw pillows or something?

From:[ACTION]; a few days after that Mêlée à Trois baby fight*
Date: 2025-11-07 05:55 pm (UTC)It has been a few days since that attempt in helping out Mega Man with his sick day suddenly escalated into what would’ve been a full on fight.
Re: [ACTION]; a few days after that Mêlée à Trois baby fight*
Date: 2025-11-10 09:08 am (UTC)Terra.
TW for the Robot Master equivalent of blood
Date: 2025-11-10 01:53 pm (UTC)Terra finally meets the other Robot Master’s gaze through the open gap between the door and the frame, craning his head down slightly to accommodate how short Zero was compared to himself.

Re: Audio
From:the exact kind of email you want first thing monday morning
Date: 2025-12-23 10:55 pm (UTC)There's been a somewhat troubling consistent issue I've noticed recently that I feel is at the point of flagging up with security, as it might help with the general protection of some of the crew.
Regards,
Optimus Prime
