Appearance

Zero has the appearance of a Human wearing a suit of high-tech armor. He looks like a handsome adult male 5'9" in height, in his mid 20's, approximately 25. In actuality, he is the most advanced of all WilyBots (though he self-identifies as a Reploid, as he and X were the design templates on which that race was constructed.) he's somewhere between 120-130 years old, though he only has clear memories of the last 90-100 years.

He has blue-green eyes and long, bushy, blonde hair most often worn in a tight ponytail. His hair reaches all the way down to his calves. With his helmet removed, he has long bangs which are styled up with a centre part, and long blonde sideburns framing his face.

He is left handed.

Fashion

He wears red and white armor and a horned helmet with a blue gem on his forehead. His armor features spherical shoulderpads with reinforced rectangular outer plates (one with a "Z" symbol), two green gems on his chest, a white codpiece, pointed silver wrist gauntlets and white kneepads and toes, with gold accents on his dash thruster boots.

His arms can covert into 2 different models of Buster canon, one (his X3 model) capable of 3 round burst and charge shots, and another (his X2 model) with a high damage round with a low rate of fire. He wears a small white pack on his back to store his Z-Saber when not in use. His saber is sheathed behind his left shoulder.

His civilian clothing is most often akin to motorcycle leathers, he doesn't have much of a life outside of work besides training, so his apparel is usual shirts or sweats with Maverick Hunter corps branding, usually featuring the details of the 17th or 0th unit, both of which he's belonged to in the past.

Demeanor & Attitude

Outwardly, Zero is a somewhat cold individual, and a ruthless combatant. He's calm and collected, even in times of crisis. He is also very straightforward and down-to-earth, often sarcastically snapping back at the unpleasantries of foes and dispatching them swiftly and dutifully without entertaining their philosophies or taunts.

Under that exterior, Zero is kind of a mess. He's socially awkward, as he often avoids making friends due to fear of losing those close to him. His deepest desire is for peace and an end to fighting, which he seeks diligently by dedicating himself to being the sword of his more idealistic friends or comrades. He's not great at carving his own paths in life, preferring to follow other more idealistic characters and use his skills to protect them and help them achieve their goals. He has no illusions that he's a deep thinker. He's a killer. Always has been. But that's why he's useful.

Zero suffers from a form of PTSD, and while he's not prone to vivid audio-visual flashbacks, he suffers badly with nightmares, insomnia and has an anxious avoidant attachment style. He struggles to cope with his symptoms without the support of his partner X.

Voice

Zero's voice is a youthful male tenor. He has a chilled out, sardonic, almost surfer dude intonation, with a vaguely Canadian accent and mild vocal fry.

He is provided most prominently by Lucas Gilbertson in the games.

Magic & Telepathy

Telepathic characters may have difficulty with reading Zero's mind, as he is mechanical. However telepathic cybertronians such as Soundwave would probably be able to achieve this without issue. They would on the surface be able to see the fear and doubt below his calm exterior (see Demeanor). They'd also be able to see his constant struggle to hold back against his lust for violence, and not give in to his darker side.

He is afraid that leaning too hard into his battle instincts may allow his darker half to take hold, transforming him into a megalomaniacal, misanthropic, murderous berserker. And his subsequent desperation to be free from the cycle of fighting before it becomes too late.

In his memories, nightmares and flashbacks, he sees glimpses of the bloody violence that he unleashed at his father, Dr Wily's, orders. It's possible he may have hurt or killed members of the Light family (Rock, Roll, Blues etc), prior to Wily deactivating him due to his uncontrollable disobedient and violent behaviour.

Gender & Sexual Identity: Zero identifies as Cis Male, He/Him. He's pansexual, but doesn't really go in for labels.

Hugging this character: Not a problem, go for it. Don't expect him to be necessarily happy about it, unless you're a close friend.

Kissing this character: Not a problem, go for it. Expect a lecture about how he has a boyfriend, before he realises that X got left behind and there's no going back. He might kiss back. Will not reciprocate with under 18 characters.

Flirting with this character: He loves the mental back and forth. Expect sass, awkwardness or flirting back. Will not reciprocate with under 18 characters.

Fighting with this character: Expect to have a challenging fight on your hands. Zero loves fighting more than any other pass-time, and will be slowly improving in real time. Any lethal blows or long-term injury to be discussed OOC first though, please.

Killing this character: Discuss beforehand, would need to make story sense, i.e. have meaning, or be the result of his own actions.
